Holiday Gambit

Working over the holidays isn't as crazy as it sounds. If you get lucky, you might find yourself in an empty office with little to do but play carpet golf and browse the web.

But, if you are unlucky, holiday misery will be yours, as a flurry of last minute applications get filed by very nasty solicitors at 4.59pm on Friday December 20th – just before they themselves flee for Barbados. If this happens, you will find yourself without back-up in an empty office. What about the partner in charge of the case? Her mobile phone will mysteriously fail to function, and you'll be left holding the baby.

But cheer up – everyone will understand if it all goes wrong because you had no information and no backup.
